Why Independent/Unaffiliated?
Dr. Witta devoted more than a third of his life to fighting—not only a disease in individual patients but also a broader “cancer” that afflicts our entire society. He has taken on powerful interests, challenging insurance providers and pharmaceutical companies from within the clinic. Recognizing that true change cannot be achieved solely behind a bedside door, Dr. Witta now understands that the battle must extend onto the streets of America and into the halls of Congress, where policies shaping access to care, drug pricing, and health equity are made. By mobilizing public support and advocating for legislative reform, he aims to dismantle the systemic forces that undermine patients' health and to create a more just, affordable, and compassionate healthcare system for everyone.
Dr. Witta is an independent candidate dedicated to defending people's rights—free from party leadership, special-interest groups, corporations, and mega-donors that dominate our political and economic system. He is not independent from everyday Americans, whether Democrat or Republican, who face real-world struggles.
Large PACs, “dark money,” and wealthy donors now dictate election outcomes, leaving district concerns unheard. Politicians become tools that silence voters and impose policies that raise the cost of health insurance, medication, rent, and everything else that matters. Elected officials prioritize donors because money buys power; a small elite controls Congress while ordinary citizens lose their voice.

Why Congress?
I studied political science and the current status of the United States Congress, election financing, and the influence mega donors, bankers, and corporations have over elected officials. I decided to run for Congress to expose the truth and to become the voice of the people, for the people.
I will fight for a Congress that works in the open, enforces rules fairly, and answers to voters—not party bosses or big donors. Together, we will make that change.
